This course provides an introduction to the international regime for the protection of individual human rights. This course covers the basic philosophy, principles, instruments and institutions that undergird the regime, along with an overview of several current issues and debates in the literature related to the cross-cultural conflicts over domestic compliance with the relevant treaties. Prerequisite: POLI110.
