Fire Science-Engineering Technology: Bachelor of Science

Program Description


This emphasis is designed for students preparing for professional positions in the private sector. This emphasis is designed to provide the student with a wide knowledge base of the fire service while earning a minor in engineering. Students in this emphasis will have the education necessary to become part of an engineering team that specializes in fire suppression and design. It should be noted that students of this emphasis are equally marketable for municipal, county, state, and federal fire departments, and have the option of earning firefighter certfications.

One-half year of two different languages will not meet this requirement.

Bachelor of Science Degree Notes (if applicable): At least eight (8) semester credits in addition to courses used for general education requirements from categories of social science, natural science, computer science or mathematics.

These bachelor of science degree requirements can be used for majors or minors, but not general education.
